I did this analysis in 2016 and repeated it in 2018. I figure that tweets by the golf course superintendent, Alejandro Reyes (@Reyes_golf), or tweets that mention the golf course superintendent, must be about the course maintenance.

Someone asked me that question while we were working at a golf tournament. The best way depends on just how much info you want, how often you want to hear from me/ATC, and the type of information you prefer to get.

There were 30,874 visitors to www.asianturfgrass.com and www.blog.asianturfgrass.com since April 23 last year. Of those, 60% were from a mobile device, 33% from a desktop/notebook, and 7% were from a tablet.

This is a friendly reminder that the information here can be obtained automatically by RSS or email every time there is an update, and then can be read or deleted at one’s leisure.

A few years ago I saw Julia Silge’s post on Ten Thousand Tweets. I thought that was an interesting analysis, and I made a note to do a similar analysis once I had sent 10,000 tweets.

I used the rtweet package to collect turfgrass community tweets from 2017. I had learned of this package from Bob Rudis’ blog post about rtweet. At the end of the year, I had a bit of time, and a lot of curiosity, so I finally tried it.

I’ve written more than 100 blog posts this year. A few of them were read by many – hundreds, and for a few posts, more than 1,000 – people. The median post from 2017 got 184 pageviews.

This is an interesting poll by David Phipps. He wants to know what is the preferred social media platform for work. As I look at the poll on Twitter, as it stands now, Twitter is the winner in a landslide at 91%.
